Durable Shower Filtration System with KDF and Chlorgon Media

The High Output Shower Filter offers long-lasting, high-capacity filtration in a compact, user-friendly design. Built with an all-brass or high-strength polymer housing and a reversible cartridge system, this filter helps reduce common water contaminants such as chlorine, chloramines, and other chemical byproducts — all without compromising water pressure.

This unit uses a proprietary blend of KDF (Kinetic Degradation Fluxion) and Chlorgon® media to deliver consistent filtration and enhanced performance.

Key Features

  • Reduces chlorine, chloramines, hydrogen sulfide, and heavy metals

  • Helps minimize rust, sediment, and odor from your water supply

  • Rated for up to 12 months of use or approximately 20,000 gallons

  • Durable high-strength housing designed for easy installation and maintenance

  • Compatible with most standard showerheads and plumbing setups

  • Helps improve the feel of water on skin and hair

Filtration Media

  • KDF (Copper-Zinc media) targets free chlorine, lead, mercury, and other metals

  • Chlorgon® is a proprietary media that reduces combined chlorine compounds, hydrogen sulfide, iron oxide (rust), and odor-causing impurities

  • Also assists in balancing water pH

Note on Mold and Microorganisms

This filter is not designed for biological filtration and will not remove mold spores or bacteria. For microbiological concerns, additional point-of-use filtration (e.g., UV, carbon block with microbial certification) may be required.

FAQs

Do I need a shower filter if I already filter my drinking water?

Yes. Hot water vaporizes chlorine into steam you breathe in, so shower exposure adds up differently than drinking. This filter reduces chlorine, chloramines, and heavy metals right at the showerhead, before they hit your skin and hair.

Does this filter remove chloramines, not just chlorine?

It handles both. The KDF media targets free chlorine through a redox reaction, while the Chlorgon media specifically breaks down chloramines, the chlorine-ammonia compounds that standard carbon filters can't touch. If your city uses chloramines for disinfection, this dual-media setup covers you.

How do I install this shower filter?

Unscrew your showerhead, thread the filter onto the shower arm by hand, then reattach the showerhead to the filter's outlet. No tools needed. It fits most standard showerheads, including fixed, rain, and handheld models.

How often should I replace the filter cartridge?

About every 12 months or 20,000 gallons, whichever comes first. You'll notice it's time when chlorine smell returns or water flow drops. The cartridge is reversible, so you can flip it partway through to get more life out of the media.

Does this filter work with well water?

It works with both city and well water. The KDF media is particularly good at pulling out iron, hydrogen sulfide (that sulfur smell), and heavy metals common in wells. Homes with very heavy sediment may want a pre-filter upstream to extend the cartridge life.

Does this filter remove fluoride?

No. KDF and Chlorgon target chlorine, chloramines, and heavy metals, not fluoride. Fluoride removal requires activated alumina or reverse osmosis, so a dedicated drinking water system is the better route for that concern.

Is this shower filter safe for kids and sensitive skin?

It's safe for both. The filter removes irritants like chlorine without adding chemicals to the water, making it a good fit for households with young children or anyone prone to reactions. It only takes things out, never puts anything in.

How does this compare to Vitamin C shower filters?

Vitamin C filters neutralize chlorine but need frequent replacement and don't address heavy metals, hydrogen sulfide, or sediment. This filter's KDF-Chlorgon media handles a wider range of contaminants and lasts about 12 months. The difference is bigger if your water is treated with chloramines, which Vitamin C doesn't effectively reduce.

Will this filter work with a rain or handheld showerhead?

Yes, it fits any standard showerhead, rain, handheld, or fixed. The unit is 3.5 x 4.5 inches and won't restrict flow.

Will this filter help protect color-treated hair?

Chlorine acts like a mild bleach on dyed hair, fading color and drying out strands. Removing it at the showerhead helps color last longer between salon visits. Iron and copper in water can also cause unwanted tinting on lightened hair, and this filter reduces those too.
