Why Remedy
Carpets Are Food for Mold
Mold, yeast, and bacteria travel like dust and therefore collect on carpet which is at the lowest point of a home and is a nice horizontal surface to land on. Carpet and carpet padding are organic and hold large amounts of dust, both of which are food for mold, yeast, and bacteria. Additionally, carpet absorbs and retains moisture and is difficult to dry. If a carpet is not properly dried after a spill, pet urination, or even cleaning, it can create an environment for mold, yeast, and bacteria to grow. A square inch of carpet may hold over 200,000 bacteria. That is 4,000 times more than your toilet. This is why bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms should not have carpet.
The appearance of a carpet can be deceiving even with high levels of mold, yeast, and bacteria. If the carpet is left untreated or isn’t tested for mold, it could expose your health and lead to sickness. Eventually, it will also contaminate your environment, pets, furniture, and clothes. Sitting on the carpet or touching the carpet can transfer particles to your hands or clothes which can lead to ingestion of toxins. Even simply stepping on the carpet can cause the mold colonies to release spores into the air which can then be inhaled. Elevated concentrations of mold spores have been known to produce autoimmune reactions and many other health symptoms including chemical sensitivities.
Harsh Chemicals in Carpet Cleaners Make Things Worse
The great majority of carpet cleaning products on the market today don’t address mold and include harsh chemicals that can trigger illness for people that are chemically sensitive. In addition, the chemical fragrances mask the odors of the untreated mold further delaying proper treatment. Our formula for Remedy Mold Treatment Concentrate and Spray, on the other hand, is a natural botanical formula that cleans and removes mold without fragrances or harsh chemicals.
Remove Mold Down to the Smallest Fiber…Naturally
We formulated our Remedy products using natural botanicals with antimicrobial properties, as opposed to toxic chemicals. They are combined with anionic and cationic “soapy” surfactants that attract mold and soil, encapsulate them in micelles, and escort the mold out during rinsing. With Remedy you can keep your carpets clean and free of mold.

How-To Maintain Carpets & Rugs
For optimal air quality for mold sensitive individuals, we recommend replacing carpet with hard floors in a residential or commercial space. However, if that is not an option, carpet should be treated every 6 months with periodic maintenance to keep mold, yeast, and bacteria levels from becoming harmful.
